Tales Of Three Cities – 19-20 September 2015

Under the direction of Associate Conductor Kathryn Morton, the Brisbane Chamber Choir performed works by Australian composers Elena Kats-Chernin, Andrew Schultz, Stephen Leek, and Matthew Orlovich, as part of a collaboration with the Sydney Chamber Choir, and stellar hosts, the Adelaide Chamber Singers.

“[The Brisbane Chamber Choir] delivered a potent message of Mary’s grief for her dying son, Mater by Elena Kats-Chernin; Nunc Dimittis – Andrew Schultz, especially deft at writing for medium high voices; Stephen Leek’s High Places (teasing with mock cadences in the minor before relenting and easing into the major); and Matthew Orlovich’s Butterflies Dance – and so they did, fluttering over the sea.” – Adelaide Advertiser

“Spectacular…” – @corinnabennett

“Bravo! Fabulous performances…” – @KathieStove

“Conductor Kathryn Morton put her patriotism to the test with a full hand of works by her compatriots. Her tidy handiwork was a model of economy, her restrained style leaving plenty of room for expansion when really needed.” – Adelaide Advertiser

We look forward to future collaborations with such fine Australian choral ensembles!
